And then the road crosses the foothills of Verkhoyansk Range and goes to the shores of great Siberian Rivers - Lena River and its inflow Aldan River. Assistance to participants of various automobile races in Magadan
Experience and emotions obtained during the travel cannot be compared with anything else. The desire to travel doesn’t depend on anything: age or financial status. During last 15 years we have seen a lot of different travelers – individuals and those who were accompanied by the whole entourage, very rich people and people who spent not much than one dollar per day. All of them were happy the same way. They had different means of transport - vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and even skis. Their departure point was mainly Eastern Europe. As a rule, the longest journey segment belongs to Russia, the most difficult – from Yakutia to Magadan. Officially Kolyma road is called "Kolyma Federal Highway Magadan –Yakutsk ". Its length is 2025 kilometers. But it is much more known as “Kolyma highway”, “Kolyma tract” and "The road of bones." Construction of the highway was begun in 1932. In 6 years, it stretched for thousands of kilometers. It is located in the picturesque valleys, climbs up numerous passes, crosses large and small rivers.
Kolyma highway is a vital transport artery for the region. When you travel along the Kolyma highway you can feel how the past still influences Kolyma. You will understand that it is not circumpolar nature that created such a notorious image of Kolyma. Magadan is either the final destination of auto races or adventurers begin their trip from Magadan, having shipped their vehicles in advance to Magadan by sea. We can help you to ship your vehicle from Magadan to Vladivostok by sea, and then by rail to its final destination.
The organization of the auto tour Magadan – Yakutsk (Road of Bones)
The most impressive auto tour is Magadan - Yakutsk and Magadan - Pole of Cold - Yakutsk, about 2,500 km long. We are ready to arrange all the service at intermediate points along the Kolyma highway, to provide comfortable transport and, if necessary your group may be accompanied by a guide - coordinator and a translator. You have to remember that not many people can boast that they have passed Road of Bones, reached Indigirka River and crossed the Pole of Cold northern hemisphere in the area of the village of Oymyakon, where the temperature is up to - 72 * C. And then the road crosses the foothills of the Verkhoyansk Range and goes to the shores of great Siberian rivers - the Lena River and its inflow Aldan. Tomtor and Ojmjakon settlements (The Pole of Cold) are located in a kind of deadend, namely in the old part of Kolyma highway. On the maps this area between Kyubyume and Kadykchan looks like a straight road and now it is called “old summer road’’ . A "loop" through Ust-Nera is a new part of the road. The “old summer road” from Tomtor to the border with Magadan Region (close to Kadykchan) is in a very bed condition now, almost impassable for vehicles.
You should remember that there are seasonal restrictions for such a tour due to the fact that in summer you should have two ferry crossings over rivers Aldan and Lena and in winter these rivers are covered with ice and ice road is maintained. In autumn (November) and spring (May) there is time when it is impossible to cross these rivers. We are also ready to arrange sightseeing tours in Magadan and Yakutsk and visiting Nature Park on the banks of the Lena River which is called “Lena Pillars”. Magadan - Yakutsk auto trip is about 2000 km long. If you visit the Pole of Cold, the length is increased by 500 km. Usually it takes 4 days to get to Yakutsk from Magadan. If you decide to visit Pole of Cold it will take 6 days.
Important information for all auto tours on Road of Bones! The choice of vehicles depends on the number of tourists in the group and also wishes of tourists. It can be a jeep, minivan of jeep class or KAMAZ. The given terms are just the time which is needed to go from one place to another. Don’t forget that you will also need time to see the sights and make radial routes. The duration of each tour is discussed on an individual basis depending on the chosen tour program. It is important to remember that the accommodation and catering services will not always meet your requirements. Some hotels on the way are provincial hotels of the Soviet style with a low quality of service. Catering mainly is organized in roadside cafes or in final settlements, but they can be closed or don’t work. You should be prepared for a variety of force majeure. During summer we have all equipment for cooking food on the fire. There are no medical facilities and traffic police posts on the Kolyma highway. Cellular communication is available only in settlements now. Description of the tour is a general plan of the expedition. In case of any force majeure or bad weather conditions, the organizers have the right to make changes.
